Spend the day on a tour to the world-renowned Chumbe coral reef sanctuary and the lush tropical forest reserve that envelopes the island. This privately managed 20 Hectare Island marine park is a unique nature travel destination situated 8 Km South West of Stone Town.
It covers 16 hectares of undisturbed forest surrounded by a virgin coral reef. The sanctuary has more than 200 pieces of pristine stone corals, about 400 species of fish, and turtles. A fixed number of 14 persons per day are allowed to go to Chumbe Island on a day trip.
