What to Expect on this Ngorongoro Day Trip
At 6:00 am in the morning, your driver will meet you at your hotel in Arusha town for your day trip to Ngorongoro crater, located 200kms west of Arusha (3-hour drive); Ngorongoro can be accessed on a good tarmac road all the way to the Ngorongoro Conservation entry gate.
Drive down into the Crater for a day of amazing game viewing. This extinct volcano plays host to wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, gazelles, elephants, rhinos and big cats.
All the “BIG 5”, Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, and Elephant live in this wonderful caldera, and there is a high possibility of spotting them all in one day.
Your picnic lunch will be served in the Crater picnic site at Ngoitokok swamp, a Hippo pool, after lunch proceeds with afternoon game viewing until 1500hrs when you will ascend the crater. Your day trip to Ngorongoro ends with a return to Arusha town, arriving at approximately 7:00 pm.
