What to Expect on this Selous Safari from Zanzibar
Fly on a scheduled flight departing at 7.30 am from Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam to the Selous Game Reserve and arriving at 8.55 am. Enjoy a morning game drive on the way to camp and be in time for a hot lunch.
At 1500 – take an evening Selous boat safari on the mighty Rufiji River. Especially in the dry season between June and October, this is an excellent opportunity to see wildlife. Crocodiles, hippos, spectacular birdlife, and various species of antelope can be observed.
The lifeblood of the Selous is the Rufiji River, and a boat safari on the river is a great way to see wildlife. Dinner and overnight: Selous Manze Camp.
After an early breakfast, you will go on a morning game drive in the Selous. Here you will find an amazing concentration of wildlife including elephants, lions, buffalo, crocodiles, hippos, and wild dogs. Other species that live here are zebra, baboon, giraffe, great kudu, baboon, bushbuck, impala, and a good bird population.
You return to camp for lunch, followed by a game drive on the way to the airfield for your scheduled flight back to Dar or Zanzibar at 12:50 or 16:15.
