Day 1: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart for your Tanzania wildlife safari, starting with a visit to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is a park of giant baobab trees, rolling savannah and acacia parkland. It is famous for its dense wildlife population, which is most spectacular in the dry season between June and September.

It is during this period that thousands of animals – wildebeest, zebra, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, and oryx migrate from the dry Maasai steppe to the Tarangire River in search of water. The predators – lion, leopard, and others- as is the custom in the savanna follow closely by. Birds are also abundant here and over 550 species have been recorded. Dinner and overnight: Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, we depart towards Lake Manyara National Park which although is one of the smaller parks in Tanzania, also contains some of the most diverse habitats of all the Tanzanian parks with it’s towering mahogany trees and giant figs.

After your morning game drive and picnic lunch by the lakeside, your guide will escort you up the steep Rift Valley escarpment and on into the heart of the Ngorongoro Highlands to your accommodation. Dinner and overnight: Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart at 0800 hrs for Serengeti National Park passing via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You arrive in time for a late lunch and some rest at your lodge.

1500 hrs – go for an evening game drive in the park. The Serengeti is probably the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. Within its 15,000 sq km area it hosts 3 million large mammals. More than 35 species of plain animals- zebra, wildebeest, eland, giraffe, and others are found here. And so for the big five: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard, and rhino.

The park is the staging zone for one of the most spectacular events in the natural world – the annual migration of wildebeest. They are followed closely by the predators of the savanna – lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures. The Serengeti also has over 500 species of birds. Dinner and overnight: Serengeti Tortilis Tented Camp.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a sleep in today and enjoy a leisurely breakfast, or be up early for another awe-inspiring trip through Africa’s greatest wilderness. You can arrange with your guide whether to venture out on a full day game drive with picnic lunch or opt for morning and afternoon drives with a hot lunch at the camp.

You set the pace today… There will be plenty of sightings of wildlife and your guide will be sure to keep his ear to the ground for any opportunities to sight some key predators. Dinner and overnight: Serengeti Embalakai Authentic Camp.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After a leisurely breakfast, head out for one last morning game drive in the Serengeti. This will be a slow-paced game drive as you head out of the Serengeti and into the Ngorongoro Highland. A picnic lunch box will be provided.

Look out for the wildlife and Masaai homesteads along the way. You will arrive at your accommodation in time for an afternoon rest. The next day will be an early morning rise. Dinner and overnight: Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

After breakfast, depart for a tour of the crater at 0700 hrs. The drive commences with the 600 m descent to the crater floor, a magnificent natural amphitheatre.

Covering 260 sq. km, the crater is an attraction in its own right and is one of the wonders of the natural world. With the exception of impala and giraffe, almost every species of plains mammal lives or visits the Crater floor – a true African Eden. We will enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before ascending the steep caldera walls to continue our return journey to Arusha.
